Xanthoma / Xanthelasma
Xanthoma / Xanthelasma: $103
What is it?
Xanthomas / Xanthelasma are yellow growths on or near the eyelids, but can be found elsewhere on the body. They can be flat or slightly raised. They form when deposits of cholesterol (lipid or fat) build up under the skin. While xanthelasma themselves are not harmful, they can be a sign of other health issues and a doctor should be consulted.
While they can start as small, almost unnoticeable spots, they often grow into larger patches that are displeasing cosmetically. We can treat them with laser and IPL to remove the color and “melt” the fat deposit. Number of treatments depends on how the Xanthoma / Xanthelasma reacts.
